FAMILY AND SPECIES

This series I call “rainbow colors” is all about families- people and animals living with their young.  This style is so unique because of its multi colors and the warmth that is felt, illustrated by the caring and compassion of the family members.  It shows how families are bound together in love and affection and how they enjoy each other no matter what world they come from- people or animals.

\I did enjoy creating this series especially when I tried to create a unique style of painting for my children with their own families, with all their sports and activities and all the things that life gave them to be thankful for.  After I captured the essence of family life, I continued this series with animals and their young, and then realized I started a family series with both worlds and I find it gratifying to see this.  This is unique so I decided to stay with it and today I have a great number done in this style.
Being a versatile artist helps me to create unique ideas and to be inventive so everyone can appreciate new work with bright colors. You can see my love for people and animals in almost everything on this earth.

FROM THE NORTH

This series represents the daily Nunavut life of fun, sports, and cultural celebration with the northern lights sky from our great north. I tried to show a way that is appealing to everyone by visualizing how beautiful the great north is, so you can see winter into another prospective, beauty and charm.

Life from the north is completely different; they rely on what they know from their ancestors and they work together to achieve a living and they wouldn’t change it for the world. They are content with very little, they take the time to entertain each other, celebrate with a new kill of a seal and they happily feast together.  All of the women prepare the food from whatever the men bring home- bears, caribou, whale, fish, and seals. They don’t waste anything; everything from a kill is used for a purpose.

I enjoyed creating this series because it reminded me of our roots- where we are all come from a long time ago, where it all started, and then we move on to a different life to become what it is now.
